Interest and Hobbies: We enjoy spending time together and with our extended families. Reading the Bible daily, attending church, and volunteering at church are important to us. We also love to travel and enjoy going to places off the beaten path. Brian’s hobbies include outdoor activities, exercise, cooking, and cares. Suzanne enjoys singing, sewing, cooking, and reading.
Home: Our 2-story home is situated in a cul-de-sac in a suburban area. It has a great first floor layout for entertaining with a sunny kitchen, dining room, large living room, and enclosed porch. We also have a fenced in yard where we enjoy having our vegetable garden.
Pets: Jack is our 11 pound black Miniature Schnauzer. He was born in 2006 and has brought joy to our home. Jack loves to squeak his toys, run around the yard, as well as lounge on the couch or on our laps. He also loves to play with our nephew.
Finances: As a family our goal is to strive for financial freedom, so in 2008 we finished paying off all our debt except for our mortgage. We continue to work together to meet our monthly budget goals that provide for us now as well as save for the future.
Why are you interested in building a family though adoption? Our journey to build our family began in 2011. After 3 years of infertility, we realized that we could grow our family through adoption. We are excited about this opportunity and feel that God has guided our journey and are looking forward to bringing our child home.
Openness to Birth parents: We strongly respect our child’s birth parents and we want to be as open as the birth parents want. We are open to letters, emails, and personal visits. Overall, as our child grows, we desire to understand our child’s emotions and are willing to use that as a guide to the level of openness.
Childcare Plans: Our desire is for Suzanne to stay at home during the day to care for our child.
Statement of Faith: We believe that God created us and that He loves us. We have sin in our lives which separates us from God, so we believe that God sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross to be an eternal sacrifice for our sins. Therefore, we have confidence that we will be with Jesus in heaven after life here on Earth.
