Home: We live in a two-story 1885 Victorian home.  It has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths.  We are in the process of adding a mud room and half-bath to the home.  Our home is comfortable and welcoming, and we enjoy entertaining family and friends.

Pets: no pets

Finances: Shannon has a very successful career in supply chain management/procurement.  Brian owns his own business and has his shop right on our property.  We live a very comfortable lifestyle.  Other than the mortgage on our home and our rental property, we have no debt.

Why are you interested in building a family though adoption? We had always planned to build our family through biological children and adopted children.  When we found out that we were unable to have biological children, we knew that we could still fulfill our dream through adoption.  In 2013 we were blessed to adopt Neva.  Our experience with Neva has been so wonderful that we want to continue to grown our family.

Openness to Birth Parents: We are comfortable with an open adoption if it is what the birth parents desire. We have had a good experience with open adoption with our daughter’s family. We visited with Neva’s birth mother in June of 2014. We continue to share emails, texts and pictures.

Childcare Plans: Shannon will take 12 weeks off of work to be home with our child. After that, Brian’s schedule is flexible enough for him to stay home and care for our children. Once our child is past 6 months of age, our neighbor will watch our child for 2 afternoons a week. This gives Brian a chance to meet with customers during normal working hours. Our neighbor is from Brazil, and she is very loving. Neva never leaves her house without a hug and a kiss. Our neighbor also adopted children, so she is very supportive of our adoptions.

Statement of Faith: We believe in the triune God, Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus is both true man and true God. We believe that we are sinners in need of forgiveness through faith in Jesus’ death and resurrection. We believe the Bible to be true in its entirety. We will raise our children in the true Christian faith.
